Noncredit, Community, and Contract Education

The Director’s scope of work includes:

Plan, coordinate, and supervise operations, services, and activities of noncredit, community education, and contract education classes

Manage relevant budgets

Hire, supervise, and support instructors

Develop curriculum to meet the needs of adult learners and the overall community

Market classes

Ensure academic quality and program review

Ensure compliance with Title 5, California Code of Regulations

Program Planning & Development

Develop and revise course offerings based on labor market data, community input, and institutional priorities

Submit new course proposals through the curriculum process

Ensure courses align with existing course outlines of record

Scheduling & Delivery of Classes

Develop class schedules

Coordinate with facilities management for classroom and faculty needs

Ensure instructors have sufficient materials, technology, and classroom access

Monitor enrollment and cancel low enrolled classes

Recruit qualified instructors in accordance with CCCCO minimum qualifications and HR policies

Conduct interviews, reference checks, and facilitate hiring documentation

Ensure onboarding and training of new faculty

Budget Management

Prepare annual budget proposals aligned with program goals

Process and pay invoices

Submit budget reports

Student Support & Success

Advocate and develop pathways from noncredit to credit and employment

Analyze student success to inform program improvements

Evaluation & Continuous Improvement

Facilitate annual program review and integrate findings into planning

Collect and analyze student and faculty feedback

Adjust offerings and processes based on outcomes and strategic goals
