Textbooks (Winter/Spring/Summer 2021)

You have several options for getting your textbooks:

You can purchase new or used print textbooks, as well as ebooks, from the COS Bookstore
Some classes have a free textbook option! See if your class is on the Zero-Cost Textbook list
You can use Library reserve textbooks (more info below)

Library Reserves

College libraries traditionally have a collection of textbooks which are usually referred to as "textbook reserves" or "course reserves." The COS Library has a mix of physical textbooks, ebooks, DVDs, and other assigned materials on reserve. Library ebooks are included on the Zero-Cost Textbook list (with links to the ebook). Like you, the Library is online for the Spring semester. Please text, email, or call with any textbook questions or scanning requests.

If we have an extra copy of a textbook, we will check it out to you for the semester
Since the Library is physically closed, we have made arrangements for you to use textbooks in person in Basecamp HQ during any of their open hours. Just stop by either area and let them know what textbook you need; you will need to use the textbook in their area (you cannot take it home).
While copyright laws prevent us from scanning and sharing entire textbooks, we can sometimes help fill in the gaps (for example, if you ordered your textbook online and are waiting for it to arrive). Please contact us and let us know what class, book, and pages you need.
Most textbooks aren't available to libraries as ebooks (we have purchased every ebook we could and you can find them in OneSearch).

Other Options

The COS Bookstore has both new and used textbooks for sale or rent and they often have ebook copies too. Prices vary. Please visit the Bookstore web site for more information (including how to contact them).
